Let's make this easy.

A will is an extremely important document that gives you a voice in designating what is to happen to your property, including bank accounts and assets. Without a will, the courts make those decisions for you and they charge a fee to do so.

Protect your family with a Midland Simple Will.  Your will is a unique legal document that coordinates the distribution of your assets or material possessions in the event of your death.

Contrary to popular belief, you can create your own will and do not need an attorney to draft one; it can actually be very straightforward and easy.

A will or testament is personal and contains basic information like personal details, the legal language in the will that declares testamentary intent, the appointed executor, and a list of property and named beneficiaries.

Wills should not include provisions such as requiring a marriage or divorce; such conditions encouraging or forcing beneficiaries to do or not to do something will not be enforced by courts. Other conditions are allowed as long as they are not limiting the beneficiary from amendment rights.

For a Will to be valid, it must be signed by you - the Testator - two witnesses, and a certified notary; lacking any of these may invalidate the will. Midland can provide a remote online notary to simplify the process. It is important to check with your state if there are any additional requirements such as filing any supplementary forms.
